After a successful Art of Nude Photography workshop held in Queenstown, New Zealand in April 2015, we have decided to run it again in April 2016.
*Update (28/01/16) Due to unforeseen circumstances, Zoe is no longer able to attend the workshop. Zoe has however, been replaced by the equally amazing Sylph Sia who I am positive will prove to be an excellent addition our model ranks.
The 2016 workshop will be even bigger and better however as we add another two models! Amazing art nude model Nicole Vaunt joins us plus a fourth model, Floofie, has just been confirmed! As an added bonus we will also have a special guest lecturer, Corwin Prescott, from the USA. We have also increased the time you get to spend learning and shooting the models by extending the workshop to a full three days and four nights with the option to stay on an extra day or two and book the models on an individual basis.
Our base of operations will be Kinloch Lodge, approximately 70km from Queenstown, 25km from Glenorchy and located right on the shore of the gorgeous Lake Wakatipu. This location gives us easy access to some amazing locations without having to deal with the crowds of Queenstown. We will also be doing day trips to other areas such as Skipper’s Canyon.
Kinloch Lodge has a variety of accommodation available from backpacker style bunk rooms to private double and queen rooms with prices ranging from $35 to $189 per night. Please look at the Accommodation Options to see what room would suit you and make your booking directly with Kinloch Lodge and make sure you secure your preference early so you don’t miss out on the room of your choice. You will be required to make a 50% deposit on your room upon booking with the balance due on arrival. Please email Portia at email@example.com referencing “Cam Attree NZ Workshop” when you contact them.
Day One, Tuesday April 26, 2016 – Arrive at Kinloch Lodge in the afternoon and check into accommodation. This evening will be spent having a social dinner so we can all get to know each other followed by a presentation on the Art of Nude Photography by both instructors.
Day Two, Wednesday April 27, 2016 – Our first full day of shooting includes both a morning and afternoon session out in the landscape with the models. The evening will be set aside for a presentation on post processing by both instructors so you can get started on working your images.
Day Three, Thursday April 28, 2016 – Our second full day of shooting sees us heading out to some more locations to take advantage of the incredible locations around the Otago region. After dinner we will spend some more time downloading and post processing the days images.
Day Four, Friday April 29, 2016 – Our final official day of the workshop will include a morning shooting session followed by an intensive post processing session and workshop wrap up after lunch. The evening will be spent having a social dinner and drinks.
OPTIONAL: Saturday April 30 and Sunday May 1 will be set aside for those that wish to stay on and book the models on a one-on-one basis to get some additional shooting time. The instructors will also be available for some personal tuition if required. Please note that this additional shooting time is outside of the normal workshop fee so extra costs will be applicable and paid directly to the models.
This workshop is designed to give you the maximum shooting time with the models as possible which is why we keep the number of participants at a maximum of 10. With 4 models available, that gives you plenty of individual shooting time and of course the great thing about being in a location like this… there is plenty of natural beauty to photograph when it’s not your turn with the models!
* Due to changing weather conditions typical of this area, we reserve the right to adjust the itinerary and locations on each day to provide the best shooting opportunities. This may include some indoor shooting options if the weather turns nasty.
While this workshop is designed to be fluid and the topics covered able to be adapted to suit the learning requirements of the participants, there are some fundamental topics which we will definitely cover. These include, but are not limited to, the following:
Cam Attree is an award winning photographer with over 20 years experience and is regarded by his peers as one of Australia’s foremost exponents of artistic nude photography. He has a passion for capturing the beauty of the human form in both the studio or natural environment. Cam has been photographing the human form for over 10 years and has been running workshops and providing tuition on the Art of Nude Photography and general photography subjects for around 5 years.
Cam is an accredited member and a Master of Photography with the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP) and is also a member of ARTnudes Network. He is currently the only Australia’s only Authorised Photographer for VOLO magazine and has had his artistic nude photography featured in numerous magazines and in a number of exhibitions. For more of Cam’s art nude photography, please check out his dedicated website.
Corwin Prescott is an internationally published fine art photographer based in Philadelphia. His work fluctuates between the heavily erotic to the exploration of nature and many points in between. A graduate of Antonelli Art Institute in 2008. After studying in the suburbs of Philadelphia where he learned how to use the camera in a commercial atmosphere, he has gone on to show in galleries across the United States from the Seattle Erotic Arts Festival to solo shows at Parlor Gallery in Asbury Park and Ven and Vaida in Philadelphia.
In 2012 Corwin led a successful Kickstarter for $15,000 to shoot and produce his first book, 50 Models 50 states. A project that took him on a year long adventure photographing a diverse range of landscape, tourist traps, and american life.
“Attending Cam’s New Zealand workshop is one of the best experiences I’ve had as a photographer. Having access to Cam’s expertise, insights and tuition made the trip worthwhile on their own merits, but in conjunction with access to incredible models, other inspiring photographers and the beautiful images captured really make the experience priceless. I’d not hesitate to recommend it to any photographer, and will definitely be at the next one”
